INSPECTION PREP
Ask for the HOMEOWNER DISCLOSURE form. This should
identify known problems, any major repairs or changes that have been made.
All utilities, Electrical, Water and Gas
supply should be on.
Pilot lights should be on in all gas equipment and circuit breakers should be on for
electrical equipment.
Areas that are to be inspected should be
made accessible to the Inspector i.e.: access around Furnaces, AC units, Electrical Panel
Boxes and any other equipment that will be included in the inspection.
Attic access openings should be easily accessible. i.e.: if the attic access is in a
closet the items in the closet should be removed so a ladder may be used. In a garage
storage or autos should be moved from under the access.
Garage, Basement and Cellar doors should be unlocked and entrances not blocked
